Kentucky QB Gaining Interest

With 2011 recruiting wrapping up, the interest in Kentucky quarterback prospect Patrick Towles has begun to increase. The 6'5 QB has two offers on the table, and has interest floating in from numerous schools.

Patrick Towles (Highland H.S.) has scholarship offers from Louisville and Cincinnati, and has received interest from Northwestern, Kentucky, Arkansas, Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State, and many others.

Now, the junior quarterback is beginning to mark his calendar for visits.

"I'm going to (Cincinnati) for their basketball game against West Virginia," Towles said. "I'm going to UK on Junior Day. I might go to Arkansas for Junior Day, and I might go to Louisville for a basketball game in a week or so."

The 6'5 quarterback has received some interest from Northwestern, but it's died down recently. But Towles admits he is still very interested in what the Wildcats have to offer.

"I'm definitely interested in them," Towles said of Northwestern. "They're a really good academic school, and they play in the Big Ten."

Towles also admitted to having a good relationship with some of Northwestern's coaches. However, he does not plan to visit NU until he receives more interest from them

Still, early into his recruiting process, Patrick Towles has a short list of favorites.

"I'm interested in any school that's interested in me," Towles. "I really like UC, Louisville, UK, and Notre Dame."

As a junior, Towles passed for 2471 yards and 21 touchdowns. He also rushed for 882 yards and 18 touchdowns.
