Shurna Out For Ohio State

Northwestern forward John Shurna will miss Saturday's game against top-ranked Ohio State due to a concussion suffered against Minnesota.

The concussion occured when Shurna was shoved by Minnesota's Ralph Sampson III, and hit his face on the basket support.

John Shurna is Northwestern's (13-7, 3-6) leading scorer, averaging 19 points per game in 32.6 minutes per game.

The junior forward Shurna has missed just one game in his career, when he was held out for precautions against Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on January 20th.

Shurna has battled through a high ankle sprain, which he suffered on December 23rd.

The matchup against Ohio State (21-0, 8-0) is Northwestern's first game with a top-ranked opponent in five years, and the 16th in Northwestern program history. Recommended Stories
