Matt Godin Update

Matt Godin Update

Three-star defensive lineman Matt Godin is up to five offers, and is gaining more interest.

Detroit Catholic Central defensive tackle Matt Godin is generating a lot of interest from colleges across the country and Northwestern is one of those schools.

The junior already has offers from Buffalo, Cincinnati, Duke, Michigan State, and Syracuse. In addition, Godin has received interest from Northwestern, Cincinnati, Georgia, Iowa, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, and others.

Despite the early offers, Godin states he does not have a favorite but Northwestern is certainly on his radar.

"I'm definitely interested in Northwestern," Godin said. "The past few seasons have been going over really well for (Northwestern). I think they have a chance for a future Big Ten championship."

The defensive tackle was in attendance at the Wrigleyville Classic this past November and is going to visit to the campus sometime in the future.

Godin also plans to make stops at Wisconsin and Indiana.

Coach Fitzgerald has transformed Northwestern into a winning program, which is an appealing draw to Godin.

"The coaching staff is great," Godin said. "I want to go somewhere where I'll be winning."
