Playko Pulls The Trigger

Northwestern has their second commit for the 2012 recruiting class. During his Junior Day visit, three-star Ohio offensive lineman Kenton Playko committed to the Wildcats. After his time on campus, Playko called PurpleWildcats.com and told us about his commitment.

Kenton Playko was a part of Northwestern's big Junior Day, and left with his commitment made.

"I committed to Northwestern today," Playko said. "I talked to Coach Pat Fitzgerald, and they seemed pretty excited about it."

So at the conclusion of practice, Playko pulled a few coaches aside, and told them about his decision.

"I went up to Coach Pat Fitzgerald and Coach Matt MacPherson and told them I wanted to commit," Playko said. "They were ecstatic. It was great."

So naturally, the newest Wildcat commit's next step was to stop by the NU bookstore and load up on Northwestern gear.

"Oh yeah, we bought some t-shirts and everything."

With his decision in the books, Kenton Playko can move on to his senior year of high school, and focus on finishing out, but with the excitement of knowing he will be a
