Does he have a preference?
"Not really," he said. "It used to be quarterback, but the big time schools want me to play safety. I'll know more after spring ball.
"I'm just trying to keep my mind open and make the best decision possible," he said.
In order to make the "best decision possible," Baratti has started taking visits, including a visit to Northwestern. While he still wants to learn more about the school, he enjoyed his time in Evanston.
"It was good," he said. "I have a good experience, toured the whole campus. I got to talk to [head coach Pat Fitzgerald]."
Baratti has also been talking to the Northwestern coaches on the phone. They have been talking about "just how [the Wildcats] play the game, what they look for in a student athlete, and what Northwestern's like."
In addition to Northwestern, Baratti has taken visits to other schools around the country and plans to take more before the spring is over.
So far, Baratti says he hasn't picked out a favorite, but will "probably have a top ten or a top five after spring ball." With that said, he doesn't know when he plans to announce his college choice.
"I mean, I guess whenever I feel comfortable and whenever I feel right," he said of making his decision. "Whatever school is right for me, I'll make that decision. I'm just going day by day right now."
