Mountain Heritage High School (NC) center John Cannon has chosen Georgia over Northwestern and North Carolina. He made the commitment offical at a ceremony at a local restaurant.

"I've decided to attend college at the University of Georgia," John Cannon said in a text message.

Cannon (6-10, 225) visited Georgia on April 15th—one week after seeing Northwestern. He held offers from the Bulldogs and Wildcats, and received an offer to walk-on at North Carolina.

As a senior, Cannon averaged 23.2 points and 12 rebounds. He also set the North Carolina State record with 624 career blocks, and earned North Carolina all-state honors.
