Upper Saint Claire (PA) TE Jack Schwaba has committed to Northwestern, making him the Wildcats'…
Schwaba (6-5, 235) is the Wildcats' third commit of the night, joining Adam DePietro and Eric Olson. In addition to being the second Northwestern commit from Thursday, Schwaba is the second Upper Saint Claire Panther to commit, joining Ian Park—the Wildcats' third 2012 commit.
This weekend, Schwaba had a great experience at Northwestern. After giving it some thought, Schwaba wanted to be a Wildcat.
"I visited a couple days ago and got to meet the coaches, tour the facilities, and met with Coach Fitzgerald," said Schwaba. "He really sold me. I feel like we're going to be the best team in the Big Ten and be a Rose Bowl team. I can't wait."
"I really knew after my visit, this is what I'm supposed to do," Schwaba said. "This is what's right for me. I talked it over with my family and this is the best decisions for us."
With the decision in the rear-view mirror, Schwaba is happy that he'll only need to focus on his senior season with the Panthers. After that, he's looking forward to Northwestern.
"It's just a relief and exciting," he said. "All I got to do now is worry about my senior season. I love the north shore and love Evanston. It's just a great town."
Schwaba was the Wildcats' top superback for the 2012 class, and was excited to break the news to the Northwestern coaches. He called both Pat Fitzgerald and superbacks coach Bob Heffner to inform them of his verbal commitment. Needless to say, the NU coaches were thrilled.
"They were all pumped up and excited," Schwaba said. "I'm their number one superback. I'm excited. I want to be a great player in that offense."
