Wellston (OH) High School linebacker Jaylen Prater gave Pat Fitzgerald his verbal commitment on Sunday.

It's official now: Jaylen Prater will be a Northwestern Wildcat. A source confirmed the news to PurpleWildcats.com on Sunday afternoon.

Prater (6-foot-1, 225) is the 15th commitment of Northwestern's 2012 recruiting class. He chose Northwestern over offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Ohio, and Toledo.

Northwestern running backs coach Matt MacPherson led the recruitment of Prater, who is expected to play linebacker with the Wildcats.

PurpleWildcats.com hopes to have comments from Jaylen later.
