Buckley, a 6-foot-1, 175-pounder, will play running back at Northwestern. He was also considering Washington State.
Buckley took an official visit in Evanston over the weekend, but was not planning on making a decision until Monday at the earliest. He was looking for a “comfortable” fit at Northwestern. Apparently, it was enough to sell him.
NU began its recruitment of Buckley in January. Northwestern’s Matt MacPherson and Marty Long each visited the two-way standout in recent weeks.
Northwestern now has 21 members in its 2012 recruiting class, with Ifeadi Odenigbo being the last addition before Buckley. NU also added ex-USC receiver Kyle Prater over the weekend.
