Brown Ready To Start 'New Future'

Los Alamitos (Calif.) High School safety Terrance Brown was reward for his patience during the recruiting process. It took a while, but Brown was offered a scholarship by Northwestern, and jumped on the offer. On Wednesday, Brown will have a dream come true.

Terrance Brown never lost any faith. Even in late August, when he was still waiting for a scholarship offer, he never held any doubt that things would work out.

"I knew it could be attainable," said Terrance Brown. "I just knew if I kept working hard, something will come. Whenever I work hard, I know something can happen in the end. I knew it would definitely be possible."

On the night of August 29th, Brown received a call from Northwestern head coach Pat Fitzgerald, who offered his first scholarship. Brown woke up the next day and accepted the offer, giving his verbal commitment to NU.

Brown will officially become a Wildcat on Wednesday when he signs a letter of intent to Northwestern.

"It will be a dream comes true," said Brown. "It has been a rough road to get this scholarship. I put a lot of hard work with my family, friends, and teammates. It' will be a very exciting day, something I worked very hard for. It will be a great accomplishment in my life."

During his recruitment, Brown developed a strong relationship with NU defensive backs coach Jerry Brown along with Fitzgerald. He appreciates the coaches' honesty throughout the process.

"The coaches are great," said Brown. "Everything they say, they really mean. They're honest and that's pretty much all you can as for. Besides being coaches, they're just great people in general."

Brown has been in contact some of Northwestern's other 2012 recruits using social media and texting.

"I have been talking with Joseph (Jones), Danny (Vitale) and Mike McHugh," said Brown. "Everyone is fired up and excited to meet each other and start playing some football. They all seem like great guys."

The California native is preparing himself for one major change to make in his new home, Evanston.

"The biggest adjustment will probably be the weather, but I'm looking forward to it," he said. "I'm purchasing boots for the snow. I'll be ready for it."

Brown is excited to make his dream come true on Wednesday, and officially become a Northwestern Wildcat.

"It's going to be exciting," said Brown. "It's going to be a great start to my new future as a Wildcat. I know I made the right decision."
