Northwestern running back Mike Trumpy will be sidelined for the duration of spring practice. The junior-to-be suffered a season-ending ACL injury against Illinois in October.
Trumpy played in 11 games in 2010, but suffered a season-ending wrist injury. He also battled a concussion in early 2011, which forced him to miss the Eastern Illinois game.
During his 14 games of action, Trumpy has averaged 4.7 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns. His four career starts are the most among current NU running backs.
The Wildcats will also be without Jared Carpenter (Hip), Damien Proby (Knee), and Evan Watkins (Hip), who converted to superback during Northwestern's bowl preparations.
Northwestern opens its spring practice on Saturday at 10 a.m. PurpleWildcats.com will provide a practice report and post-practice video interviews.
