Northwestern's front court just got taller than ever.
NU head coach Bill Carmody announced the addition of 7-foot-2 center Chier Ajou. However, Ajou's status for the upcoming season has yet to be determined by the NCAA.
"The addition of Chier completes a terrific freshman class that we're very excited about," Carmody said in a statement. "He is an outstanding young man who is athletic, has great upside and is a good fit for our program. He'll provide our team with a dimension we haven't seen in a while."
Ajou, a native of South Sudan, is the tallest Wildcat in the program's history. He helped Culver Academy to its first state final appearance in school history in 2011.
The Wildcats' 2012 class also includes freshmen Kale Abrahamson, Sanjay Lumpkin and Alex Olah, plus Louisville transfer Jared Swopshire.
