Long pledges to Northwestern

Union City (Calif) running back Warren Long gave Northwestern his verbal pledge.

Warren Long is Northwestern's 11th pledge for the class of 2013. The Union City, Calif. running back gave head coach Pat Fitzgerald his verbal commitment on Friday.

"It was probably the coaching staff and how they welcomed me like no other school," Long told the Contra Costa Times in California.

Long stands at 5-foot-11, 195 pounds. He also had received interest from Stanford, Oregon and UCLA.
