It's safe to say Northwestern's experiment with Kain Colter is off to a successful start.
Colter, the Wildcats' jack-of-all-trades specialist, was named the Big Ten's Co-Offensive Player of the Week, along with Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez. This is the fourth time in five weeks that a Wildcats has been honored by the conference; Chi Chi Ariguzo earned honors on defense, plus Venric Mark and Jeff Budzien earned special teams honors.
Colter tallied 161 rushing yards and four touchdowns, plus added a game-high nine catches for 131 yards in Northwestern's 44-29 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers. It was the first time this season in which Colter was used at a position other than quarterback.
Northwestern will look for more Big Ten honors when it travels to Penn State on Saturday for its first Big Ten road test.
