Davison commits to Northwestern

Northwestern has landed its 18th verbal commitment for the 2013 recruiting class, as three-star linebacker Ray Davison gave the Wildcats his verbal commitment.

Ray Davison was slated to visit Northwestern during its bye week, where he was planning to give his verbal commitment. However, he had to scratch those plans.

Still, Davison couldn't wait any longer; he was ready to be a Wildcat. On Friday, the three-star linebacker from Encino, Calif. committed to Northwestern's 2013 recruiting class.

What was the difference-maker for Davison?

"Academics," he told PurpleWildcats. "However, as soon as they offered, I knew I was going to commit. I just wanted to do it on my visit but I couldn't wait until then."

Davision also holds offers from Boise State, Iowa State, Colorado State, Navy, Nevada, San Diego State, and Wyoming, among others. He was scheduled to visit Boise State and Nevada, but those plans have been scratched.

Davison is Northwestern's 18th verbal commitment for this class and its first since August 9. NU is expected to add several more additions to its 2013 group.
