"It's a great feeling to know that your dreams are actually coming true," Jackson said, envisioning his moment on Signing Day, in which he'll give his decision.
Jackson, a 5-foot-10, 170-pounder, is rated as a four-star prospect and is the eighth-ranked cornerback in the country. His list of scholarship offers includes Arizona State, Boise State, California, Florida, LSU, Nebraska, Northwestern, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Washington, and others.
"I'm just taking my time," added Jackson.
While Jackson is staying patient in his recruitment, he knows what to look for in the right school.
"I'm just hoping to find good community, a good home-base feeling, and to be in a loving place," he explained.
Northwestern entered the mix for Jackson early on. The Gardena, Calif. product is a native of East St. Louis, Ill. A return to the Land of Lincoln isn't out of the question. The Wildcat coaches have worked to build a relationship with the talented cornerback, and he is responding well.
"What impresses me most is the coaching, and how they built the team," he said of Northwestern. "They got a bowl win this year. The coaches are great. They show a lot of love to me when I talk to them."
Jackson isn't going to rush a decision. With a double-digit total of offers and surely more to come, he's ready to wait for all options to emerge, before narrowing the list. Then, he will wait till Signing Day for a decision.
"I just want to take everything in and enjoy the moment," he said.
