2015 OL Andrew Otterman commits to NU

Fitz loves sleepers.

Surprise. Northwestern landed one of its most obscure recruits ever. Andrew Otterman, without a Scout.com profile, committed to the Wildcats this weekend.

No Scout profile? No Rivals profile? No 247 profile?

No problem.

Per multiple sources, Northwestern landed Andrew Otterman, an offensive lineman from Morristown (N.J.) Delbarton High.

Otterman becomes the 12th commit for the Northwestern class of 2015, and by far the most under-recruited of all.

Listed on Hudl at 6-foot-4, 285 lbs., Otterman is the most obscure Pat Fitzgerald commit in recent years. Still, his video highlights and size hint at good upside.

PW has not yet contacted Otterman. Really, no one has. But we can make some quick guesswork: area expert Bob Heffner and offensive line coach Adam Cushing are betting on their quiet evaluations.

This fills an important need for NU, which can now focus on targets including Indianapolis Cathedral HS guard Jared Thomas for its final O-line spot. The Wildcats are checking off various positions as their recruiting class fills.

With approximately 18 or 19 spots available for this recruiting class, Northwestern addressed many of its needs—with quarterback and wide receiver the most important remaining positions.

Low profile, low maintenance, Andrew Otterman became the biggest surprise of an exciting recruiting class.
