More on Team Leadership from Pulmocat...
The obvious team leader the last 2 games has been Vedran Vukusic -VV. Today he spoke to Mike Thompson [MT] on several occasions when Mike was getting frustrated over missed FTs. Against Depaul he got in TJ's face after he dribbled the ball for a posession and heaved up a brick. He also got Vince Scott calmed down after getting an elbow in the neck today. He was the guy the refs went to to settle things down. He also came out after we went down by one and got a cutting layup and a big three to douse the SHU rally.
Interestingly, MT was looking a little less comfortable today. He had two nice passes to cutters and again set a high screen to set up an open three for VV. Missed one cutter badly to turn it over and couldn't buy an FT. He makes Davor Duvancic more effective.
Ivan Tolic may not be putting in floor time but he's working hard with MT and VS on the bench. Seemed to be describing the preferred options in various sets to MT who was nodding understanding on two occasions. He seemed to encourage VS to hustle more.
This team is coming together. The leaders are stepping up. The only thing that bothered me about the team's demeanor today was seeing TJ mug
to someone in the crowd during halftime warmups.
Anyone else have a comment, or idea?
