Lots of action last weekend, as the NU Recruites went 3-0 in Football: Kicker Stefan Demos, TE Brendan Mitchell [2 TDs] and QB/S Brad Phillips, Northwestern's three Football commits all won, plus updates on Men's Basketball's SF Kevin Coble, SG Jeremy Nash, and SG Jeff Ryan

Here's the latest on Northwestern's Class of 2006 Commits:
So far there are 3 Football and 3 Basketball Players who have committed to Northwestern:
K Stefan Demos **Scout Photo
[5-10 190] Horizon HS [Huskies], Scottsdale, Ariz.

Horizon humbled Kofa 64-0, Demos is reported to have kicked the opening kickoff through the end zone, but Kofa drove to the 18 where penalties and a lack of a kicker cost them a red zone score. Horizon took over and their defense kept the Kings at their end of the field the rest of the game.

Horizon is now ranked 4th in the Arizona Republic Class 5A Div I rankings.

[6-3 220 4.7] Western Reserve Academy [Pioneers], Hudson Ohio -

On third and fifteen from the Blair 20, quarterback Brett Kilgore (Hudson) connected with Northwestern recruit Brendan Mitchell (Twinsburg) in the corner of the end zone for the score - Reserve Record

The Pioneers won the game in the last minute, 35-31 to remain 4-0. They then blew away Culver Academy 36-19 last Saturday. Mitchell had 2 TDs on pass receptions from Tight End.

They next face Lake Forest Academy October 8th at 2 PM in Lake Forest, IL

[6-3 205 4.5] Franklin Regional SHS [Panthers], Murrysville, Penn.
The Panthers [5-1 3-1] apparently stayed on the ground, as they rolled up Highlands HS 40-17. Their running back scored 4 times, but no report on how Phillips played.

The week before, the Murrysville Star reported that Phillips had 2 TD passes as Franklin humbled Keystone Oaks 20-0 following their first loss of the season.

Franklin Regional remins #3 in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Class AAA Rankins.

SG Kevin Coble **
[6-8 175] Scottsdale Christian Academy, Phoenix, Ariz

Played on the 2005 2A Arizona State Championship team.

SG Jeremy Nash **
[6-3 185] Marist HS, Chicago, Ill.

Chicago Marist Shooting Guard Jeremy Nash has been ranked #19 in the latest top prospects in Illinois. He's the #7 Shooting Guard on a list that has 11 guards in the top 20. He joins fellow Chicagoland commit Jeff Ryan on the top 20 list.

SF Jeff Ryan ***

Jeff Ryan, the 6-8 Small Forward from Glenbrook South has been listed as the #2 Small Forward and overall #12 player in the State of Illinois by in their updated 2006 Basketball Prospect list.
