But the Boilermakers went home unhappy today
They thought they'd won it when Brandon Roberson fumbled on the 1 and they drove all the way back down field to take the lead in the fourth quarter - Purdue's Brandon Jones scored with 5:17 and the 2 point conversion failed.
But the Cardiac Cats weren't done - Brett Basanez suddenly was again getting catches by his receivers, and the Cats drove 75 yards in 11 plays to take the lead on a one yard Tyrell Sutton touchdown. The pass failed, but the Cats led 34-29.
Purdue wasn't done either, they mounted a last second drive of their own gaining 29 yards, but with 1:09, a Brandon Kirsch pass was intercepted by Marquice Cole at the NU 41. 4 Plays later it was over, and the Cats had their first win at Purdue in quite a while. Northwestern had clinched a win their second straight game with an interception in the last minute.
NU is now 3-2 [2-1 Big 10], while Purdue continues their slide, they're now 2-4 [0-2].
Next up is Michigan State - no TV has been announced yet.
