NU Seeded 4th?

The Division I Women's Lacrosse seeds are out, and once again, the Northwestern Wildcat Lacrosse team will have to prove their dominance from outside the top 3 seeds.

The Cats have outscored most of the rest of the Lacrosse establishment
but its almost as if the selection committee wants to see if they can do it again.

NU will be at home for the first two rounds, but they're possibly going to face 3 teams they've already beaten handily.

First will be Stanford, who the Cats demolished in California, 19-8 back in March, then the winner of North Carolina [5], who lost to NU a few weeks ago 18-10, vs. Maryland, who lost to NU on the opening day of the season, 13-8 in College Park.

All the games will be at NU, where the Wildcats have an 18 game home winning streak on the line. Of the tournament teams, only Duke, the #1 seed beat the Wildcats during the 2006 season. Duke lost to the #2 seed Virginia Cavaliers twice, once during the season and once in the ACC Finals. Georgetown, the #3 seed will not host the preliminaries, but their schedule should include 6 seeded Notre Dame.

The winners of the Preliminaries head to Boston for Semifinals on May 26, and finals on May 28th.
