Did Northwestern's Tyrell Sutton break the 110 yards he needed for his second 1000 yard season? Well Touchdown Tyrell got to 110 on the last true offensive play by the Cats and scored on a 2 yard TD in the 3rd quarter that put NU ahead to say. Sutton joins a select group of backs who have had back to back 1000 yard seasons, a list that includes Damien Anderson, Darnel Autry and Jason Wright. Leading by just one point, and having to kick off to Illinois to start the 2nd half, the Cats pulled off an on-side kick that led to Sutton's TD. C.J. Bacher had a decent game too, 22 of 30 passing for 269 yards and a TD and most important no interceptions. The Cats did lose 2 fumbles in the first half, but played defense when it counted, corralling Juice Williams with aggressive pass coverage. Several seniors who had been listed as out for the game made a late appearance, including Erynn Cobb and Frayne Abernathy. It was also Pat Fitzgerald's first home Big 10 win, kept the tomahawk in Evanston for another year, and a fitting way to send the Seniors out with the clock face at NU Purple for the Winter.
