From the Purple Boards: Pulmocat has been updating our board readers with info on the NCAA Pool Cats. Here's some more on our Swimmers. With four top seeds and 2 second seeds at the NCAA Swimming Championships, NU and coach Bob Groseth are set to make a huge dent in the plans of the swimming majors

Meet NU's Men's NCAA Swimmers:

Kyle Bubolz
a 6'2" Junior with an impressive resume. Hailing from Waukesha Wisconsin he was the 4 time Wisconsin high school swimmer of the year and in 2004 was named Swimming World's high school swimmer of the year (that's like being the consensus number 1 high school football or basketball prospect on Scout, Rivals, Leming, and Parade). He was recruited hard by Groseth and some think Grevers was the key to sealing the deal.

Last year Kyle finished 5th in the NCAA 100 butterfly and was a member of multiple scoring relays.

Kyle is currently seeded second in the NCAA Championships in the 100 fly. He spent much of the year with the fastest time in the NCAA. He is also expected to score in the 100 free and 100 back. He is a vital member of NU's impressive 400 medley relay which is seeded first. And a member of the highly seeded 200 medley relay, 200 free relay, and 400 free relay.

Eric Nilsson
A 6'0" Sophomore from Weston Mass. he was the Boston Globe HS swimmer of the year twice and Mass swimmer of the year once. Eric is a distance freestyler. He has been described as great in training by Grevers and cocky in the water. He is expected to score in the 500 freestyle and looks tough in the 200 free and 200 fly. He will also score in the 400 and 800 free relays. With Kyle he represents the core of the future for NU men's swimming.

Bruno Barbic
A 6'2" junior from Zagreb Croatia, Bruno transferred to NU from Univ. of Washington after his sophomore campaign. He is one of the glamor boys: a true sprint freestyler. He was 15th at the World Short Course Championships in Shanghai China in 2006. He is expected to place highly in the 50 free, the 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 400 free relay, and 400 medley relay. He was a great get for NU.
