Another Linebacker Offer

Another Linebacker Offer

Northwestern Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald continues his defensive side recruiting charge, as the Wildcats have offered another top ranked middle linebacker. This kid is also a double threat, as both a runner and a run stopper...

Another Middle Linebacker/Fullback offered
Jonathan Meyers, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound linebacker from Greenwich High School was recently extended an offer by Northwestern.

The Greenwich, Conn., native already held offers from Florida, Virginia, Purdue, Nebraska, Maryland and Duke. Meyers also noted that other schools could be close to offering.

"I just wanted to let you know I got an offer from Northwestern," Meyers said. "I'm told Penn State and Vanderbilt offers should be on their way as well. Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA and Miami all recently saw video and are very interested as well."

As a junior Fullback, he carried the ball 135 times for 1140 yards and 23 touchdowns.

He added 127 tackles and 10 sacks from his linebacker position on his way to All-County and All-State honors. He was named VP of the state championship game.
