Random Thoughts: Return of daCoach

When daCoach disappeared, the Cats were about to end another .500 season with no bowl, and it looked pretty dismal for roundball. He couldn't see games on TV so it was hard to analyze what was happening. Well, now the Cats are back on TV regularly, and daCoach returns with an explanation and some thoughts for the future...

So what happened?

Many of you know that for some reason I just sort of "disappeared" last year.

There were many reasons why I was burned out on internet sports in general.

My 12U football team went 0-6, The Wildcats were mired in another 6-6 season, I took over running the Delaware American Legion Baseball program and we had a new grandson that pulled us away from the TV during many NU games and the rest were televised on the Big 10 network, something Comcast didn't carry on our cable.

I just couldn't do it.

Things have finally settled down here in the Coach's office, and after Comcast picked up the Big 10 Network, it was possible to watch all of the NU games this year, and even join the game time chat a couple of times. I realized that I missed doing all this, and I think I still have something to add to the discussion of Northwestern Athletics and other issues surrounding College sports.

Or maybe I should say, I missed all you.

We're bringing the Sports Mews Digest back; Monday - Friday with a Weekend Wrapup issue Sunday night.

I'll add Random Thoughts from time to time and we'll still hear from Steve Truog from time to time.
