Those are not the only reasons NU deserves to head back to Florida (for a change) in 2009. This is the best record the Wildcats have had in a long time The last time Northwestern played in Florida, Southwest Airlines didn't fly from any East Coast cities to Florida. The "poorer" NU fans had to shell out many kilo-bucks ($1,000 - not related to dOSU) to get anywhere in the state. At the last Alamo Bowl, the fans of just two web "fan" sites of the Wildcats, held a major pregame party that is still referenced when the modern era Bowl games are discussed because of the turnout. Northwestern was the first college to hold Chat sessions during games (bet you didn't know that). The Big 10 Network, Rivals and Scout.com networks encourage their publishers to hold such events now. Per capita, NU Football Fans probably out earn Iowa Football fans. Not sure where Iowa's largest alumni clubs are, but NU's are in Washington DC, Los Angeles and New York! And our alums tend to be in professions that are imune to layoffs and cutbacks. (that's Government and Legal). Nope, if I was planning to hold a week long party of college alumni and was trying to decide between the Big 10 teams, I'd pick NU. Like it or not, there are more of us with the money to actually go to the party, even if there are more of the other guys looking for jobs right now. But, Hey, hey, that's OK, you'll all work for us someday (if we choose to hire outsiders).*
