A source confirmed to Purple Reign that four-star recruit Marshall Plumlee visited Northwestern earlier this week.
Plumlee, from Arden, N.C., is rated by Scout as the No. 8 power forward in the nation in the 2011 class. He has recently visited Florida
, and is reportedly heading to Virginia
to round out a busy late-summer recruiting tour.
Plumlee, who is 6-11, has offers from numerous schools, including Florida, LSU and Notre Dame. In the Big Ten, he holds offers from Indiana, Minnesota and Purdue.
Northwestern recruited Plumlee's two older brothers, Miles and Mason, who each ended up selecting Duke. John Decker of Hoosier Nation reported that Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski could be going for the trifecta, as Coach K had an eye trained on Marshall throughout a summer tournament in Las Vegas.
Still, Duke has yet to officially offer, and Marshall seems to be taking NU seriously.
Purple Reign will have more on this as soon as Plumlee can be reached. Stay tuned...
