It was wild and wooley, with 5 missed Field Goals, 637 yards of total offense by NU, and a record passing day for Junior QB Brett Basanez.

But if only just one of the FGs had made it....

If there was any question about Brett Basanez coming back this year, they are answered.

Basanez was 39 of 62 for 513 yards and 4 touchdowns, breaking Mike Greenfield's single game record from 1985. Jonathan Fields had 8 receptions for 202 yards and 3 TDs.

On the ground, Noah Herron rushed 28 times for 97 yards, and added another 39 through the air.

Mark Philmore had 12 catches for 131 yards, Ashton Aikens 8 for 87, Shaun Herbert 5 for 43, and T.J. Jones had 1 for 8 yards.

The entire offense had 613 yards, with 32 first downs.

In the post game interview, Basanez took responsibility for not getting the ball into the end zone a couple of times that would have put the game out of reach. We'll have the post game interviews up later.

The Cats start the season 0-1, with a big home date with Arizona State on September 11th.
