| Biography: |
| First Northwestern Public League signee in 25 years.
Projected to play shooting guard for the Cats, altho his size might let him play up front.
From Brian Stinnette/Chicago Hoops: Although he is most successful as a shooting guard, he has the ability to get minutes at the point as well. Shoots with range out to the three-point arc, and is an active defender. His size should help Northwestern down the road against bigger and physical guards in the Big 10.
"Sterling will fit in anywhere; he's versatile," Young coach Ron Branch said [Chicago Tribune]. "He's mature for his age and he works hard in the classroom and on the floor."
Williams played with four Division I recruits at Young: Auburn center Dwayne Curtis, Miami (Fla.) guard Anthony Harris, Loyola guard Andre Knox and Maryland-Eastern Shore forward DeWitt Scott. |
