| The 2002-03 season will represent Paul Lee's third year as an assistant coach for the Wildcats.
Prior to his arrival at Northwestern, Lee spent 10 seasons at Columbia University. He was the top assistant and recruiting coordinator at his alma mater for six years.
Lee played for the Lions from 1982-86 and was a captain of the 1985-86 squad. He received the Walter H. Bernson Memorial Trophy, given to the Columbia basketball player who exemplifies spirit, hustle and determination. He graduated from Columbia in 1986 with a degree in American history.
Prior to his coaching stint at Columbia, Lee served as a graduate assistant at Monmouth (N.J.) College for two years. The Hawks compiled a 32-25 overall record and reached the finals of the Northeast Conference tournament in 1990.
Before that, Lee worked as a Eurodollar money broker for Bierbaum Martin, Inc. He was also the assistant coach of varsity basketball and head coach of junior varsity baseball at Hudson Catholic High in Jersey City, N.J., his alma mater.
